Closing
remarks
At this point it is my job
to wrap this conference up. I would like to say that I believe we have
had a rich series of panels with excellent opportunities for discussion
and we are very grateful for their insight and thought that bring a
historical perspective and some recommendations but with the underlying
theme that there is support for NORAD and our participation within it.
We are a post national and
post modernist state and I see this coming through in the poll as well.
We have particular insight on NATO and this has been invaluable to our
discussion of NATO today. I must say that this conference just doesn’t
happen and first and foremost everyone who has been involved in
organizing conferences knows that you can’t do it without two things.
The first is the sponsors.
It is a joint conference that has been hosted by CDFAI and CIC,
specifically the SSWG. Our premiere sponsors include ATCO Structures,
the Department of National Defence, Lockheed Martin. Our Eminent
sponsors are NATO, Raytheon, and the Canadian Defence Review. We also
have our organizing group of David Bercuson, myself, Bob Millar, and
Colin Robertson.
Finally, thank you all for coming today and for your
participation. We set out to have a program that was not going to be a
talking heads group but a discussion and an exchange of views and we
look forward to doing this again in the future. |
